Transcendence

Today I am forced to examine my own mortality in the wake of the passing of Guru. How life can exist one moment and vanish the next? There is joy and challenges we all must face, but just as important, I realized today the significance music has in my life. While I have an understanding that it is neither a religion or an entity that can save us, I do recognize its grave importance to the world. Hip Hop especially has a way of lifting our spirits, from its braggadocio beginnings, to the inspiring words of truth. Its ability to allow us to party on the weekend as well as feel empowered on Monday morning. From Sean Bell, to the the earthquakes in Haiti, Hip Hop is the voice of the people, and the pulse of the world. At its core Hip Hop has always made me feel hopeful. The skill of allowing these emotions to flow thru our veins is an art that Guru held in high regard, and executed with precision and love for his craft. -Thank you Sr.

  6. Great Words Pharoahe. Guru may not have lived a full life, but while he was here, he did what most people fail to do, lived his Dream, and pursued his passion and talent. His Music and Voice will live on. R.I.P

  9. Often we asked ourselves because people go away that we loved, God has to us prepared a mission in the life and once we have already realised it takes to us next to him. It is necessary to live life second a second, minute by minute and not to let to us win. Guru must be in a far better full place of angels and their friendly that have passed away. Respect. alive Guru greetings from Chile Hip hop does don´t stop!

  10. One assumes that in the life we come to fulfill a cycle, once we already fulfilled our tyarea God takes to us next to him. To live every second and every minute is our task. One becomes difficult to include and to adapt us to the game of which we want, but above the life is prettier and say that it is lived on a daily basis on a great peace. Respect! Great Guru, one of the maximum exponents of rap. Greetings DES of Chile

  11. Nice one Monch, GURU touched so many lives as do you. It's our responsibility to make sure the next generations and generations to come are keenly aware of these contributions, not only for the survival of the art but for them and their souls. This Hip Hop is truly Soul Music...Thank you my brother...

  12. It is with deep pain I take the time to write on behalf of one of hip hop's most respected. Guru came along way and made many recognize hip hop was still real and not being followed the way it should have. However, he never fell off. He always had a shine for hip hop making his every move known when he grabbed that mic. The pleasure was all mine to have been able to know him outside this hip hop world and I must say I own every imported album, his solo cd along with the versions all the Gangstarr albums and of course the most classic albums released by volumes...JazzMaTazz. I recognize talent and take full respect towards him and his work. God bless u Guru live on to the name and forever we live on to your music and talent. RIP...Forever in our hearts. Yours truly, Fabianne Vera aka LOVEMEORLEAVEMEALONE
